Mr. Gavin has over 10 years of experience designing, testing, and manufacturing automation equipment. This includes 8 years in semiconductor interconnection and packaging machines, followed by 2 years designing bespoke automated assembly machines. He currently works at exida in the Certification Group, leading the team that analyzes and certifies Type A Mechanical devices per IEC 61508. In addition to completing certification projects for devices, he has leveraged past machine design experience to certify systems per IEC 61511 as well as conduct machine safety related analyses. Mr. Gavin has a Bachelor’s Degree from The Pennsylvania State University, and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a certified functional safety expert.
