ANSI / ISA-18.2-2009
This new standard provides a framework for the successful design, implementation, operation and management of alarm systems in a process plant by taking a lifecycle approach to alarm management. It contains definitions as well as recommendations and requirements, which if followed, will improve alarm system performance and eliminate the most common alarm management issues. ISA-18.2 is expected to be accepted by OSHA and insurance agencies as “good engineering practice”.
