The IEC 61511 standard requires that equipment used for automatic protection be justified. This can be done via a “self-certification” scheme called Prior Use jsutification or via the use of IEC 61508 certified products. Both procedures will be described. A sample process for self-certification is explained. Lists of IEC 61508 certified products will be shown. Attendees of this webinar will understand equiment justification requirements of IEC 61511 and the methods used to meet those requirements.
