Layer of protection analysis (LOPA) has been shown to be an effective method of determining the needed SIL of any defined safety instrumented function. The method does particularly well with optimized SIL selection and often results in lower SIL levels being selected when compared to estimated methods commonly in use. This webinar presents the basic concepts of LOPA along with new generation engineering tools used to reduce cost when doing LOPA analysis.
