1. Functional Safety Management Services

exida can help companies to integrate methods and procedures needed to meet international safety standards into their total quality management systems. This integrated approach can help the company achieve higher levels of quality and lower cost. Based on the Maturity Index of Reliaiblity (MIR) system developed at Eindhoven University in the Netherlands, FSM will help in meeting all the requirements of IEC 61508 for organization safety. IEC 61508 is the international standard for electrical, electronic and programmable electronic safety related systems. Third party certification of a companies FSM system can also be arranged through our partners.

2. Equipment Certification Assistance - CE, VDE0801A1, IEC 61508

exida has considerable experience in preparing automation equipment for certification according to applicable basic and functional safety standards. Depending on the application and the defined target markets, exida will start by advising which standards should be met (IEC 61508, CE, VDE0801A1). For a given set of standards we can coach the development team in requirements of the standards, we can assist in document preparation, we can do detail failure modes, effects and diagnostic analysis and we can accompany your team through the entire certification procedure. We can even arrange all third party certification work through our partners.

3. FMEA / FMEDA ANALYSIS

exida has developed effective techniques for detail failure modes, effects and diagnostic analysis of electronic and mechanical equipment used in automation systems. When this work is done to meet in part the requirements of IEC 61508, a detail report can be prepared as part of the development process. We will also coach and train internal staff in how to do this work as desired by the client. FMEA/FMEDA Training Course.
