The Senior Safety Engineer provides engineering process evaluation, technical training and support to Industrial Automation and Automotive vendors in the areas of safety, reliability and assessment services. Responsible for product assessment and certification for functional safety and/or cybersecurity standards for industrial automation, machines, on-road and off-road automotive, and fire & gas. As part of this work, the individual also performs engineering process analysis, hardware FMEA, software FMEA/HAZOP, and Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostic Analysis. In addition, the Senior Safety Engineer will develop detailed safety cases for products to show compliance with functional safety standards.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, Experience:
Knowledge in the product development process. Must have experience with hardware and/or software development, quality assurance, and process improvement. Experience with real-time embedded software development and management of large development projects to achieve functional safety certification is a plus.
B.S. in Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar degree
