As a trusted functional safety advisor, he has led HAZOP, PHA, LOPA, SIL selection and verification, and IEC 61511/IEC 61508 Functional Safety Assessments on well over 150 projects across North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific — working directly with most important operators companies to close safety gaps, reduce compliance risk, and keep capital projects on schedule.
A Certified Functional Safety Expert (CFSE) since 2009 and holder of a B.S. in Systems Engineering and Master’s degree in Project Management, Jonathan built his reputation on practical, field-tested solutions rather than theoretical ones — grounded in years running commissioning, startup, and maintenance programs at more than a dozen oil & gas facilities before moving into exida in 2007. He’s the author of a published book on Functional Safety, Alarm Management, and Cyber Security, a member of ISA and AIChE, and a regular trainer for engineering teams and operators building in-house safety lifecycle competency.
