One Series Safety Transmitter

The One Series Safety Transmitter is a hybrid control that is both a transmitter for continuous monitoring and a logic-solving safety trip alarm. This dual functionality is accomplished with an advanced microcontroller that generates a 4 to 20mA output along with two isolated programmable digital outputs that can be deployed for process safety control, alarm and interlock. A third digital output is dedicated to diagnostics.

This mix of analog and digital signals, all certified as safety variable outputs, increases options and protective strategies for safety designers. For example, one of the digital outputs is a high capacity solid state relay which can command a final element (e.g. SOV, MCC) directly. A second DC output mimics the same programmed set point value for soft process alarm, trip or ESD. A third digital output can be optionally dedicated to health status with high diagnostic coverage (SFF > 98%).

All outputs are certified as safety variable outputs. The analog signal conforms to the NAMUR NE 43 standard and the digital outputs fail-safe (open) when a fault is detected. Set point and deadband (reset point) are 100% programmable. The instrument is password protected to prevent unwanted parameter changes; eliminating the risk of tampering and an LED backlit display enhances viewing of process variables, parameters, and status.
