More and more companies are experiencing cybersecurity incidents. With approx. 360,000 malware attacks per day it’s hardly surprising. Industrial Automation Control Systems (IACS) are also vulnerable to both external and internal threats from intentional and unintentional sources. As a result, companies are beginning to look at critical infrastructure and existing vulnerabilities, with insurance companies taking a greater interest in whether/how clients implement Cybersecurity measures. Moreover, the IEC61511 standard for the process industries, that now also covers Food and Beverage and Pharmaceuticals, was updated in 2016 to include a cyber risk assessment requirement for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS). The IEC62443 Industrial Controls Cybersecurity standard is recommended to be followed to undertake a cybersecurity SIS risk assessment. As with the IEC61511 Standard, the IEC62443 Standard also follows a lifecycle approach.
This seminar identifies a pragmatic approach to implementing the requirements of IEC62443, for the SIS and any IACS, as well as identifying the potential vulnerabilities and likely consequences.
