Kalmar has been awarded the IEC 62443-4-1 cybersecurity certification for its Connected Solutions Secure Development Lifecycle Process, which covers the MyKalmar INSIGHT performance management tool for material handling operations, Kalmar cloud, and the related gateway.
It follows the successful 2023 certification for the Kalmar One automation system, which established Kalmar as the first solution provider in the ports and terminals industry to receive this certification for the software development of its automation system across all terminal equipment.
The Kalmar Connected Solutions Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) process was independently audited by exida, a leading product certification company.
The IEC 62443-4-1 standard specifies the process requirements for the secure development of products used in industrial automation and control systems (IACS). It defines Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) requirements related to cybersecurity for products intended for use in IACS environments and provides guidance on how to meet these requirements. SDL includes practices such as security requirements definition, security training, secure design, secure implementation, verification and validation, defect management, patch management, and product end-of-life.
