We all know that an FMEDA is only as good as the assumptions made regarding typical design engineering practices and the database used for the failure rates.  Here is the catch, not all products are designed and manufactured per the same rules!  Many manufacturers boast that their product is the best or has some type of unique feature.  This is where the Safety Reliability Analysis comes into play. The Safety Reliability Analysis (SRA) allows the device designers to showcase their unique features or designs that improve reliability and safety. When there is extra safety and reliability designed into the device, it should be recognized.  The SRA allows for a device to “shine” and receive the reduction in failure rates it deserves.

What is the Safety Reliability Analysis (SRA)?

The exida FMEDA is done with our standard component database, using typical engineering design and technology. If there are special design considerations or "high strength" parts used, exida can perform advanced component analysis based on design parameters, stress test reports and field failure data to obtain special component failure rates and failure modes. This is a means to assist your company in leveraging their quality management into lower product failure rates.

You have designed a device that is much stronger than most.  Tell us how you do it, show us your test/analysis results and take credit for all your hard work!

How do we apply for Safety Reliability Analysis (SRA)?

An SRA can be done with a FMEDA alone or a part of the certification or recertification process.  Show us how your device is innovative.  Show us your groundbreaking design technology, your test results, your Finite Element Analysis, or your Fault Injection Tests and we can incorporate those analysis into your FMEDA.
