Cisco Catalyst Wins 2019 exida Cyber Award

Sellersville, PA: The global leader in automation cybersecurity certification, exida, has presented Cisco with the 2019 exida Cyber Award in the Network Device category for their Catalyst IE3x00 Rugged Series switch.

The Cisco Catalyst IE3x00 Rugged Series switches feature advanced, full Gigabit Ethernet speed for rich real-time data - and a modular, optimized design. These switches bring simplicity, flexibility and security to the network edge, and are optimized for size, power and performance.

“The Catalyst IE3x00 is one of the first network devices to be certified to IEC 62443-4-2 (Security for industrial automation and control systems part 4-2:  Technical Security Requirements for IACS components).” Adds Mike Medoff, Senior Safety Engineer for exida. “In addition, Cisco has received a certification of the Cisco Security Development Lifecycle that is followed when developing and maintaining products.  These certifications show that secure processes are in place throughout the development lifecycle and the security capabilities have been designed into the product.”

The exida Cyber Awards honor exida-certified products and processes that best demonstrate new and innovative work in the realm of automation cybersecurity. exida found the Catalyst IE3x00 demonstrated considerable security and resilience according to the IEC 62443-4-1 cybersecurity standard.
