This paper presents analysis of the spurious failure modes of an Emergency Release Coupling (ERC) assembly and the effect that the remaining final element devices have on the safe failure rate of the final element.
The results are presented in the form of tables that demonstrate the safe failure rate that can be achieved with various interface voting architectures.
